Connected Patients Enters Into Multi-year Agreement with a Leading Lexington, KY Hospital.

Connected Patients Signs Multi-Year Contract for ConnectMe Device installation at Central Baptist Hospital Allowing Patients and Clinicians Bed-Side Access to the Internet

Lexington, KY (May 23, 2011) ConnectedPatients, LLC, located at 465 East High Street, is a Lexington, KY-based technology company committed to providing health care facilities and their patients with solutions leading to a better patient experience. Fifty-nine user-friendly ConnectMe terminals have been placed bed-side in Oncology and Mother/Baby rooms with an additional sixteen more to follow immediately. Central Baptist Hospital is a 351-bed facility and both parties anticipate the installation of additional units during the duration of the contract.

The ConnectMe devices allow patients to connect to friends and family via the internet, watch a variety of movies on-line, or listen to their favorite music. Karen S. Hill, RN, DNP, NEA-BC Vice President/Nurse Executive at Central Baptist Hospital has already seen the positive impact the devices have made for patients. Our maternity patients love the ConnectMe system and use the monitor to communicate with families and friends and to relax. This capability has differentiated Central Baptist in supporting the connectivity of our patients".

The units are either installed bedside or mounted on an articulating arm, readily useable by clinicians, patients, and their families. The ConnectMe terminal has an LCD touch-screen with large, easy to use virtual buttons. The system can be viewed at http://connectedpatients.com/connectme-overview.

With the ConnectMe device, patients and their visitors can access the internet, check their email, and instantly connect with their favorite social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.”Having access to email and Skype in our room allowed us to share this special time with our family and friends. We were not expecting the Connected Patients device that was in our birthing suite, but it made our stay that much more enjoyable.”, commented one recent patient regarding their stay at Central Baptist.

Physicians and other clinicians also receive tremendous benefits from having access to the ConnectMe device at the patients bed side. They will be able to better serve their patients by helping them engage in their own plan of treatment. The ConnectMe device offers a portal for electronic medical records, functions as a bed-side physician order-entry, and allows practitioners to augment treatment with specialized patient education tools.
